Community Employment Hub volunteers
Volunteer information: We are looking for valued volunteers to help out at our 'Community Employment Hubs’, to support people in our community towards work.
Where: Community Hubs exist in Williton, Stogursey, Watchet, Minehead and Dulverton and soon to be Taunton and Wellington
Commitment: Minimum 3 hour session, one morning (when you can), in one or more locations: Tuesday – Williton (weekly); Wednesday – Stogursey (every fortnight); Watchet – Thursday (weekly); Dulverton 1st Thursday (monthly), Minehead – Friday (weekly). Taunton and Wellington days to be confirmed
Why we want you: To provide holistic, positive support for people who require help towards work. Supporting clients to build confidence, self-esteem and access to the job market via CV writing, job searching, interview preparation or moving jobs, IT support and signposting to other agencies and organisation for further support, education and training.
What’s in it for you:The hubs provide a friendly environment and team of volunteers, who enjoy helping people. You will meet new people and enhance existing skills gaining a worthwhile experience in supporting others.
The skills you need: We are looking for people with a positive attitude and good communication skills who are friendly and enjoy meeting people. You will be comfortable in, filling in forms and using IT and recognising when people need further help through experienced organisation/agency support.
Notes: Appropriate training will be provided and further support where necessary. The Community hubs are led by the community for the community to provide a robust service to those who wish to access it
